Trailer Puppies

Just after the 2009 Hound Hoe Down Ronda was approached by Elena, one of SFAR’s invaluable volunteers.   It seems that some local folks had spoken with Eleana about a pair of dogs that had puppies under a trailer.   The local folks had been feeding the adults and had made a makeshift puppy house where the mom could jump in and out and tend to the puppies.  Eleana and Ronda went to round up the dog family but couldn’t catch the adults.  The locals came and assisted in the capture and the whole dog  family was transported to the Las Minitas shelter.    The adults will be spayed and neutered and returned to the local couple.   When the puppies are older they will work their way through the protocol and make their way to the states for adoption.    In all there are nine puppies resting comfortably and safely with their mom at the shelter
